Leona Irene King Holt, age 100, died February 3, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born September 8, 1914 in Lehi, Utah, to Reuben Frederick King and Mary Eugene Manning King. Leona married Leslie Samuel Holt on October 23, 1931. She was an active member of the LDS Church, an Honorary Rose Society member, and Rose Judge. She was an avid walker and world traveler, and loving mentor to all her grandchildren.
Leona is survived by her son L. Allen Holt, daughters Phyllis Player and Ilene (Strand) Speck, 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 53 geat-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Alice King.
She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter-in-law Marie Holt; grandson Jeffrey S. Hoopes; great-grandson Ethan S. Rasmussen; brothers Ernest, George, and Don; and sisters Edith and Patsy.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East Bengal Blvd with a viewing one hour prior to service. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the and hug your mom.
