Leola “Lee” Fairclough Holt

February 10, 1936 — June 25, 2020

Lee Holt, 84, died June 25th, 2020 in Millcreek, Utah at her home at the Wellington Assisted Living.  She was surrounded by all of her family, friends, and caretakers who loved her in her final days.  She died peacefully and was able to say goodbye to her family and most friends.
Born on February 10, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Maude Lorena Sage and Bert Fairclough.   She lived out her days in Utah, California and Arizona.
Lee loved woodworking and built birdhouses, bookshelves, cabinets, and her cabin.  She also loved to paint and do leatherwork.  She built water features, laid slate and wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty!  You could usually find her in the garden, in her tool shed, fishing by the lake, on a roof, or hanging out on the porch having a beer or a cigarette.  She loved rock hounding and searching for arrowheads and was pretty damn good at finding them!  You would also find grandma cruising State Street in her Jeep and stopping at all of the local thrift stores for cherished treasures too.
She was a people person and was always surrounded by friends and family.  Every morning you would find her sipping coffee with friends, but in the evenings she was a sharp shooter at pool and enjoyed the nightlife.
She loved her children Jeffery Tempest (Becky), Cheryl Burton (Mitch) and Renee Moriarity (Mike).   She loved her grandchildren even more!  Her grandchildren are Danny, Michael, Travis, and Misty Tempest (Jeffery’s children); Jenny (RB Hayes), Hilary, Courtney, Christian (Allie), Tess, Henry and Olivia Burton (Cheryl’s children); and Preston and Berlynn Lyman (Renee’s children).  She was blessed with 6 great grandchildren too:  Isaac Maedgen (Jenny), Molly Tempest (Danny & Gina Burton), Koehn Tempest (Travis), Lily Burton (Christian), Jude Burton (Christian) and Emma Tempest (Travis).
Surviving loved ones also include her many nieces and nephews and their families.  She loved so many and the love was felt in return.
Her best friend was Kathy Wheeler and Lee considered Kathy’s kids her own too: Ann McLeod, Ben Wheeler, Susan Wheeler and David Wheeler.  She loved her “adopted” grandkids as well: Morgan, Abigail, Benjamin, Caleb, Karleigh, Samantha, Alexis, Eleanor, and William.  Other “adopted” grandkid, Leanne Vesloski.
Her parents, Maude Lorena Sage and Bert Fairclough, and her stepfather, Emery Hunt, preceded her in death.  Her brother Arnold Fairclough, her sister Leone Mikel, her sister Leah Hill and her brother Leroy Fairclough also preceded her in death.   She has lost so many friends and loved ones and we are so happy that she is reunited together with them.
