Leo William Morrow 1929 – 2020
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away Feb 1, 2020, in Draper Utah, and returned to his Heavenly Father.
Leo was born October 23, 1929 in Murray, Utah to William A and Leila Farnsworth Morrow. He married his wife Joan Jessen November 12, 1954. He lived most of his life in the Midvale – Sandy area of Utah. Where they raised their three children.
Leo graduated from Jordan High in 1947, he then served in the army until he was honorably discharged in 1956 after which he worked with the trains at Kennecott Copper Mine for 30 years. When he retired, he was able to work 10 years at the Bishops Storehouse as a missionary.
Leo was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Oct 1939 and continued to be active the rest of his life. He held many callings in the Church including the Scouting program, Sunday school, Elders, High Priest Quorum Presidencies, as well as counselor in the bishopric. His favorite calling was with the youth, and he loved it when he could join them at camp. Both Leo and Joan looked forward to girls camp every year.
He loved traveling and learning about new places, and had traveled from one coast to the other, and many states in between.
Leo is survived by his wife of 65 years Joan Jessen Morrow, and their three children, Leonard William Morrow (Dianne) Pleasant Grove, Jeannine Morrow Johnson (Max) West Jordan, and Lorna Morrow MacDonald (Paul) Boston. And his sister Pearl.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents William A and Leila Farnsworth Morrow. His sisters Thelma Raleigh, and Louis Williams.
There will be a viewing Thursday Feb 20, 2020 from 6pm-8pm, and again Friday Feb 21, 2020 from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will be held immediately after at 11 am.
