Leo Drew Christensen

August 23, 1944 — July 24, 2018

Leo Drew Christensen, 73, passed away on Tuesday July 24, 2018 at home of pancreatic cancer.  He was born 23 August, 1944 in Provo, Utah to Leo C. Christensen and Ethel I. Johnson.  He grew up in Murray Utah and graduated from Murray High.
Drew served in the Great Lakes Mission and faithfully fulfilled service in numerous ward and stake callings over the years including service in the Manti, Logan and Jordan River Temples baptistery for a total of 11 years.
He enlisted in the United States Army after returning from his mission and served in Vietnam and in Europe (Germany) as a helicopter pilot and commanded a number of units. He served for 6 years and obtained the rank of Captain. While in Vietnam he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal as well as many other awards.
Drew attended Snow College and graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Accounting. He was an Aggie football fan. He worked for 30 years for the State of Utah as an auditor for Work Force Services.
He loved to travel and was an avid baseball fan. His team was the Detroit Tigers.
He is greatly loved by his family and nieces and nephews whom he adored and spoiled.
Drew was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nedra K. Christensen. He is survived by his two brothers, Clive R. and John Mark (Connie) Christensen and sister, Julia (Paul) Brown, 8 nieces and nephews, and 22 grand-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday July 30, 2018 at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 S 1700 W (Redwood Rd.), Bluffdale, UT 84065.  Friends and family may attend a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A special thanks to nurse McKenzie at Quality Home Care and Hospice for their exceptional care.
