Lenice Taylor Dawson

March 3, 1928 — January 15, 2022

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother & GG (93) passed away peacefully in her home on January 15, 2022. Born in Spanish Fork, UT on March 3, 1928 to Gil and Annie Taylor. She graduated from Spanish Fork HS in 1946 and moved to Salt Lake City soon after. She eventually ended up in Murray, UT where she lived out the rest of her life in her dream home. She married her soul mate, Clyde Dawson in 1964. She loved to entertain and hosted many parties for her friends and neighbors. They enjoyed camping and boating and spent much of their time up in Heber, UT. She loved to dance and always dressed to the “T”. She was loved and adored by all who met her and developed a special relationship with Galen Ostler whom she spent a lot of time with until his passing. They enjoyed going to Wendover, dancing and playing cards. She looked forward to playing cards and dominos with her lady friends, including her sister-in-law, Peggy Heiner. She enjoyed working in the yard and cleaning house and we would bet she had the cleanest house in Murray. She worked for several years in her 70’s at the Murray Liquor Store. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Kenzie and great granddaughter, Oakley playing cards and doing puzzles. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Gary) Stark, granddaughter, McKenzie Macfarlane and great granddaughter, Oakley Macfarlane as well as her step children, Wendee (Terry) Long, Linda Dawson and David Dawson, grandchildren, Stephanie (Kirk) Fordham, Zachary Dawson and brother Blake (Gay) Taylor. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Dawson, brothers, Elmer and Allen Taylor, sister, Louise and grandson, Brandon Long. The family would like to send a special thanks to Symbii Home Health and Hospice and most importantly, her nurse Joan for taking such good care of her. Her strength and beauty will forever live in our hearts. Fly away sweet angel. Now you can breathe, dance and enjoy all the things that you love. There will be a viewing at the Memorial Murray Mortuary at 5850 S. 900 E. Murray, UT on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The burial service will be held at Murray City Cemetery on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10:00 am.
