Leitu Aiono Taeoalii

Beloved mother, mumsy, grandma, great grandmother. Leitu passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 11, 2017 in beautiful Samoa.
Mom was born July 10, 1932 to Tausoa Umu and Voi Aiono. She married our father, Aiomanu Taeoalii Nov. 5, 1949 and later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple, Dec. 23 1967.
Our dearest mother was the greatest example of the love of our Savior. Mom lived her life an active and faithful member of the LDS church, fulfilling various callings which included two temple missions with our dad in the Samoa Apia Temple 1997-98 and 2002-03. After Dad passed away in 2004, she served one more temple mission by herself in 2006 to 07.
She was a pillar of strength, determined to raise a large family and was a great influence upon her children. She provided wisdom, spoke honestly and loved unconditionally. She cared deeply for all her children, grands and greats! She was a fine example to many friends and relatives who loved and admired her and will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her brothers Fotu, Voi, Maua, and sister Tagi; sons Fotu (Pam), Voi (Ronette), Aiomanu (Jamie); daughters Tua, Lise (David) Tafuna, Taumaia, Maugasa (Boyd) Slagowski, Siuao (McMain) Kioa, Lai (Matt) Davies and Oliana (Vita) Kamoto; 39 grandchildren, 39 greats and 3 great, greats!! Mom would say “That’s lots peoples”
Special thanks to her daughters Tua and Lise for the undivided care and attention they’ve provided for our mother for so many years!
We love you so much mom!! We will miss your cooking, gentle gospel reminders, laughter, stories, singing, dancing, playing skipbo and hearing you say “ia faamalosi” – “Try Hard!”
Enjoy your reunion with Dad, your son Seminale, your parents, your brother Etisone, and sisters Sivao and Pisila.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 7pm to 9pm at the chapel on 4715 So. 4300 W. where the funeral services will also be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9am to 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.Service Information
