LeeAnna Nelson Tryon, 74, passed away February 17, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on August 26, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William John LeRoy Nelson and Alice Henrietta Nielsen. She was married to Glen LeRoy Tryon on July 30, 1959, later Solemnized in The Salt Lake Temple.
Mom was a woman of few words, so when she spoke you really wanted to listen; she offered great wisdom and understanding. Family times and traditions were important to her, like chili dinner at Halloween, Christmas omelets, ‘Grandma Day’ and summer end family birthday party. She always has her nails manicured with holiday themes and wanted her hair styled on a regular basis. She pampered her puppies; she made sure they were groomed regularly. She enjoyed eating out especially pasta, she loved going to lunch with her brother in law Eldon & sister in law Jenean every Monday. Her favorite past time was to watch the Utah Jazz when John Stockton and Karl Malone were playing, she also loved Elvis Presley, she was a stay at home mom and at least once a week we would come home from school to hot homemade bread right out of the oven just in time for us getting off the bus; every year when we were growing up she would take us to Saltair to go swimming when they were still open to the public, also she would make it a point to take us to Lagoon and the Zoo each summer. Though she wasn’t able to go much she very much enjoyed going to movies and getting pedicures with her daughters and granddaughters.
She was a long time employee of Arctic Circle, she enjoyed all of her regular customers and they enjoyed her sweet spirit and smile. In her younger years she was an avid bowler, all of her kids were raised in the bowling alley mainly Sue Rich Lanes. These two groups were like a second family to her.
She is survived by her sisters, Patricia “Pat” Albrecht, Gayle (Renny) Brunatti, brother & sister in laws Eldon (Jenean) Tryon, Judy (Lee) Keeler, daughter Sharry (Mark) Thomas, Son Bill (LoriAnne) Tryon, daughter Lisa Burnside (David Lapow), daughter Tori (Kelly) Robinson, daughter Denice (Steve) Hamby, and puppies Bentley & Kasper. 14 grandchildren, Keven (Elma) Thomas, Joleean (Chris) Slater, Angelique Thomas, Brandon (Haley) Tryon, Doug (Melissa) Tryon, Nicole Tryon, Ronny Burnside, Chris Burnside, Tara Anderson, Tiffany Nelson, McKenzie Nelson, McKayla Nelson, Shantell Hamby (Jamison Creekmore), Joshua Hamby, and 12.5 great grandchildren, as well as many cousins and very close friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, great grandparents and her beloved puppies Smokey, Bandit, Patches, BoBo, Taffy and her closest Cuddles, along with many other pets.
