Lavern Fa’Aofo Tuia-Soelberg

June 18, 1977 — December 24, 2018

Lavern Fa’aofo Tuia-Soelberg
Age 41-She passed onto the other side of the veil on December 24, 2018 in Provo, Utah.
Lavern was born on June 18, 1977 in American Samoa at the LBJ hospital to Poufitu and Fiapa’ipa’itamali’i Tuia. She married her sweetheart Matthew Stephen Soelberg for time and eternity on October 16, 2001 in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her hobbies were volleyball, reading, DIY projects, football-rugby, dancing and of course, whatever her girls desired. She was the Primary Chorister for her ward and she loved it. Lavern accomplished being an amazing mom to her two beautiful angels; Mali’i and Rae. She was their protector—they were her world. Her hubby and her girls were all she ever talked about. She would do anything for her beautiful family. She was a protector to those that she brought under her wings. Lavern wore her heart on her sleeve and she loved everyone. She was #6 of the Tuia siblings and she did what she promised she would do. The one to graduate with honors, the only one that was Sophomore, Junior and Senior Class President at Granger High School, the only one to graduate with a volleyball scholarship and the only one that our dad traveled out of state for games.
She graduated from C.E.U and served a mission to Japan, Tokyo South Mission and the first one to be married in the temple. Her family is for eternity and she got it done.
She was the pride and joy of her parents and so loved by her amazing hubby “Makaio” and her precious beautiful daughters. Her nephews and nieces are missing her, families and friends are mourning her saddened departure from us. She was loved and she will be missed.
Fly high angel, Heavenly Father definitely gained an amazing angel with wings big enough to protect her loved ones.
She’s survived by her beloved eternal companion, Matthew Soelberg and their precious daughters; Fiapa’ipa’itamali’i Grace and Leiona Rae. Her parents, Poufitu and Fiapa’ipa’itamali’i Tuia, her sisters, Ruth (Ioane) Nautu and Caroline, brothers; Lilomaiava, Murray (Francia) and George (Selesitila) Tuia.
