Laumuoy Phou

Mrs. Laumuoy Phou, born February 12, 1931, peacefully slipped away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 5:40 p.m. in the Intermountain Healthcare hospital surrounded by her family and her loved ones. She survived with her six daughters, five sons, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Born in the city of Moung Roessei in Battambang Province, Cambodia, she married her beloved husband Mr. Pot Tek in 1950, where they will be reunited after being apart for 11 long months. Mrs. Laumuoy Phou was a kind gentle hearted soul with much to offer to those around her. She was a strong-willed woman that worked her hardest to accomplish her goals, raised a family, and along with her husband became successful business owner in Cambodia. She was an inspiration and someone to always count on when needed.
In 1979, Mrs. Laumuoy Phou and her family made an escape, fleeing from Cambodia on foot to the Thailand Refugee Camp. In August of 1982, she began a new journey along with a new life with her husband, three sons, and four daughters. They began this journey by settling down in Salt Lake City, Utah. On Monday, June 16, 2014, she made her last and final journey to her permanent heavenly home to reunite with her husband, parents, sisters, brothers, oldest son, and her youngest daughter that have passed away.
Mrs. Laumuoy Phou believed that as a mother you never gave up on your children no matter what the situation was. She taught her children that loyalty, generosity, and respect will further their future in life. She was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother will be deeply missed by all of her children. Mrs. Laumuoy Phou, was a role model to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will forever be in their hearts.
