Larry Carl Kirkwood

Larry Carl Kirkwood, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on his own terms on October 7, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1941, in Bingham, Utah, to William Arthur Kirkwood and Barbara Ann Baker, and was the youngest son of eight children.

Larry met the love of his life, Dianne Schouten, at a Halloween party in 1964, and they married in June 1965. Their love was a source of strength and joy throughout their lives together.

A passionate gardener, Larry found great joy in tending to his roses, nurturing both his plants and his family with the same care and dedication. After enjoying an early retirement, he embraced 22 years of adventure filled with camping, fishing, and making lasting friendships wherever his travels took him.

Larry is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his brother Jack, sisters Sandra, Thelma, Betty, Linda, and Margie, and son-in-law Robert Boettcher. He is survived by his devoted wife Dianne, sister Pat, daughters Rae Boettcher, Toni Kirkwood, Lori and Nick Burningham, son David and Jaimie Kirkwood, and grandsons Justin, Jeremy, William, Michael, Caleb, Kayden, Linqin, Jackson, Xander, and granddaughter Harley Rose, great grandson Weston and great granddaughter Sedona. He is also survived by many cherished cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
