Larry F. Jewkes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, returned home to his heavenly father on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born on October 3, 1939, in Delta, Utah. At a young age, he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Larry attended East High School and made many lasting friendships. He served an LDS mission in the southern states and later married Carol Jeanne Hardy. Larry graduated from the University of Utah, where he earned his Masters's Degree in Educational Psychology, and moved on to work for the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation Services for 35 years. While working for the State of Utah, he thoroughly enjoyed traveling to almost every town in Utah as well as many cities throughout the United States and he was often called "The Road Warrior".
Larry loved his family, friends, and neighbors. He was always excited and willing to travel, whether it be to professional football games with his sons, multiple Metallica concerts, or just an overnight trip out of town. Larry enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends on many motorcycling, camping, and hunting trips. Larry also loved a good meal and regularly went to breakfast with old high school friends, dinner with the neighbors, or even treated himself to a good steak while on vacation. Larry did everything he could to make sure that his family was taken care of and looked out for each of his neighbors. Larry was a great man, nice to every person he met, and he will be truly missed by all.
Larry is survived by his wife Jeanne, sons Morgan and Sterling, and grandson Mason (Whitney). Preceded in death by Matthew G. Jewkes (son); Fred C. Jewkes (father), Kirsten Jewkes (mother); and McKay C. Jewkes (brother).
