Larry Charles Castleton

Larry Charles Castleton was called home on July 16,2021. Larry was born on March 19,1948 to George Vernon, and Norma Lavern Peterson Castleton in Payson Utah. He was the middle child of nine. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Northwestern States mission in California. He was raised in Springville Utah where he met the love of his life Betty Jeane Pace. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on September 8, 1972.
They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah where he worked for the State School Board of Education before going to work for the State of Utah Technology Services Department for 32 years He retired on March 12, 2009. During this time his family grew with the birth of his two children Brian and Kendra.
After he retired, he enjoyed going to the Rivers Bend Senior Center where he made many new friends, he liked to play and call bingo, Wii bowling and singing in the choir, just to name a few things. He was an active member of the Center 3rd Ward of the Salt Lake Riverside Stake where he held many positions, his favorite one was ward chorister. He loved movies, musicals. His favorite is the Sound of Music.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, three sisters two brothers, his wife Betty, he will be missed by his son Brian & Lisa Castleton, Daughter Kendra & Lauren Martin three grandkids Ana & Kayla Shade, KayLub Martin, Dean Martin.
There will be a viewing at Memorial Estates Redwood Mortuary 6500 s Redwood Road Taylorsville, Utah from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday 22nd 2021. There will be a Memorial Service on July 24th at 11:30 -12:30 at the Center 3rd Ward located at 1955 West 400 North
