Larry Allen Ricketts

December 11, 1942 — September 21, 2021

Larry Allen Ricketts passed from this life on September 21, 2021 at the age of 78, in Salt Lake City, Utah. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years Vicki Woodward Armstrong Ricketts, his six children Christine Ricketts French (Ian), Lori Ricketts Gray (Todd), Larry Ricketts II (Elyse), Andy Armstrong (Rebecca), Jess Ricketts (Desire), Misty Ricketts Brimhall (Bart), 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and sister Nancy Prikryl (Bill) of Midlothian, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents L.A. Ricketts and Helen Riche Ricketts of Arlington, TX.
Born in Arlington, Texas, Larry graduated from Arlington High School and attended Texas Christian University. He joined the Navy and was trained as a dental technician. He served overseas in the Vietnam War attached to the Marine Corps as a Dental Tech and Medivac Transport.
Larry loved the speed of life. He was adventurous and loved the outdoors. He will forever be remembered for his red Corvettes, which he proudly drove in many neighborhood parades and threw candy to the crowds. He loved being a member of the Corvette Club and touring around Utah with Vicki in the passenger seat. Some of his best days were spent on hunting and fishing trips with his family, filled with lots of laughs and sometimes even fish and dove. His other loves were golf and the Cowboys, as was his duty as a proud Texan.
Larry loved his Heavenly Father and being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a devoted father and grandfather who taught his children to have faith in God and to love others. His compassion for others, desire to always help when there was a need, and special consideration for those who felt marginalized or were hurting has left a legacy for his children and grandchildren to follow.
The family wants to extend our love and gratitude to the amazing and compassionate staff at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray who made Larry’s last days comfortable for him and truly special for the family.
