Larae Linnell Simmons

LaRae Linnell Simmons was reunited with her son, Derek Ray Shaw, on June 6, 2018 at the age of 66. She was an eccentric, strong willed and dedicated woman. Her sense of humor was infectious, fun and unique. She always carried herself with class and love for the people that meant the most to her. She was a sister, aunt, cousin, daughter, and adored mother to her three daughters: Jessica (Mike) Simmons, Cassidy (Alex) Lamb, and Cherish (CJ) Mullins, and son, Derek Ray Shaw, who passed away in January of 1997. She was a loving grandma to 9 grandkids: Natasha, Kainen, Shez, Anthony, Kacey, Brynlee, Jace, Nautica, and Vee.
LaRae was married to Ron Simmons for over 20 years and he later became her closest, dearest friend and they shared a very special bond. She had many friends from the Barons Motorcycle Club, who later became family to her.  She always had us laughing and we never left without smiling. She was a free spirit who loved riding on the back of a bike or driving with the top down and wind in her hair. She enjoyed playing the piano and making time to color and do puzzles with the grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Dorothy and Ray Linnell; son, Derek Ray Shaw; brother, Gary Linnell; and little sister, Nancy Linnell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 o’clock on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Calvary Chapel, 460 West Century Drive, Murray, Utah. In lieu of flowers please donate to Ron Simmons or her Go Fund Me page. It can be found on Facebook.
