L. Legrand Price “Lee”

February 1, 1940 — February 27, 2020

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his home Thursday February 27, 2020.  Born to Lyle Martin and Thelma Larsen Price in Grace, Idaho on February 1, 1940.   “Lee” had a successful business career, but his family is his greatest accomplishment.  He always said that the best decision he ever made was marrying his sweetheart Brent on August 26, 1963 in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Lee loved supporting others in their interests and dreams and relished in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren above all else.
Lee graduated in accounting from Brigham Young University. Throughout Lee’s professional career, he spent a lot of time away from home.  However, he always made sure to call home each night and check in with Brent and the kids. As his kids got older, he would still call to check on them often.  He may not have had a lot to say but he always made sure to tell those close to him that he loved them.
Lee had a special gift for making people feel loved and important. He always greeted those he met with a big smile and a friendly handshake.  His loud deep voice might have intimidated people until they got to know him and realized he was just a big cuddly teddy bear.
Lee loved to tell a good story.  He always used his hands as part of the show which was especially terrifying for passengers in his car because his hands were rarely on the wheel and his eyes were seldom on the road. It must be true that Jesus really does take the wheel.
In 1978 when Lee moved his family to Utah, he was excited to finally have season tickets to the BYU sporting events. He was an avid fan of anything BYU and would often tell people he bled blue.
For many years Lee had season tickets to the Utah Jazz.  His seats were directly behind the Jazz bench and he regularly consulted Frank Laden and Jerry Sloan on how to coach the Jazz players. His family often joked they believed the Jazz would have beaten the Bulls for the championship had the finals not been played on a Sunday because Lee was in church and not at the Delta Center.
We are grateful for the kidney transplant Lee had from his son Talmadge.  His life was extended for 16 years and he was able to meet all his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 56 years Brent Grampp, his five children Taft (Mary Jane) Price, Paisley Miller, Tyler (Allison) Price, Cameron (Ryan) Balagna and Talmadge (Jessica) Price and his 23 grandchildren (Madison, Austin, Chandler, Sarah, Brady, Anna, Sammy, Carson, Logan, Zoe, Lily, Libby, Colton, Carter, Edie, Kelsey, Spencer, Aiden, Jackson, Hannah, Brynly, Makena and Josslyn) and two great grandchildren.  He is also survived by three brothers: Don, Clair and Keith Price and one sister Diane McIvor.
