Kristopher Brock Lunak

Kristopher Brock Lunak, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, coach, and friend, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2025, at the age of 46 due to a heart attack. Born on March 4, 1979, Kris lived a life full of love, dedication, and unwavering passion for his family, friends, and community. 

Kris is survived by his loving wife, Laci, and their two sons, Halas and Jack, who were his greatest pride and joy. He also leaves behind his mother, Shauna, his father and stepmother, Mitch and Nancy, his sister Brooklyn Juday (Tim), his cherished dogs Dotti and Peanut, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were like family to him. He was joyfully greeted in heaven by his grandparents, Ralph and Joyce Peterson, and his beloved dogs, Duncan, Daisy and Dozer. 

Growing up, Kris was a dedicated athlete, playing a variety of sports and learning the value of teamwork and perseverance under the guidance of his dad, who coached him. This early love of sports led him to become a high school football and little league coach, where he inspired and mentored young athletes, including his son Hal, passing down not only skills but a lifelong love for the game. 

A devoted Chicago Bears fan, Kris proudly wore his orange and blue - a passion so deep that he named his firstborn son Halas after George Halas, the legendary Bears coach and founder. His love for sports extended to the University of Utah and the Utah Jazz, and he carried that same enthusiasm into his career, founding a successful letterman jacket company that allowed him to combine his entrepreneurial spirit with his deeply-rooted love of athletics, outfitting young athletes with pride. 

Kris was more than a coach, business owner, and sports fan—he was the hardest-working dad and husband, ensuring his family was cared for and supported in every way. His warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering determination touched the lives of everyone around him. He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Kris leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and passion for life that will continue to live on through his family and the many lives he impacted. 

A celebration of life/open house will be held Saturday, March 22nd, from 1:30 to 4:00 PM at Wheeler Farm in the Education building, where friends and family can gather to honor and remember him. Please bring photos and memories to share with his boys so they can continue to feel their dad’s love and legacy through the stories of those who knew him best.
