Klenner Dow Erekson “Klink”

July 4, 1934 — January 5, 2021

Klenner Dow Erekson “Klink”, age 86, died on January 5, 2021, in Holladay, Utah. Klink was born July 4, 1934, to Zelph Y. Erekson and Ada Irene Toone Erekson in Murray, Utah. He married Doreen Lovell on January 7, 1954. They had four children Angela, Scott, Irene, Jefferey. Later divorced. Married Anita Wall on March 14, 1967. Later divorced. Married Elaine Fuller on August 21, 1971.
Klink grew up in Holladay and graduated from Granite High School. He loved working on cars, hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and camping. He proudly served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. He owned Klink’s Utoco and worked many years for Goodrich Construction, turning a two-week cement job into a long career with the company finishing as Housing Maintenance at Hill Air Force Base. After retirement, a favorite item on Klink’s agenda was spending his mornings at Sharon’s  Cafe eating his bacon and eggs and harassing the waitresses. He always made sure to save a little bacon to take home for the dogs. Being born on the 4th of July Klink was our favorite firecracker. He was our go-to guy for figuring things out and an integral part of our lives. He will be missed greatly.
He is survived by Elaine, his wife of 49 years. brothers Alma (Lou, deceased) and Allen (Mardy), sisters-in-law Annie and Nedra, his four children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews-but five special ones who loved him dearly TD, Anna, Jason, Leslie, and Clinton.
Klink is preceded in death by his parents Zelph and Irene, brothers Norman, Thomas, and Zelph Edward.
A life remembrance will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123 on January 13th, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
