Salt Lake City, Utah – Beloved mother and grandmother, Kiyoko Oshiro, 91, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013. Kiyoko was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on November 21, 1921, the eldest of eight children. After high school she moved to Salt Lake City where she met and married Gilbert Oshiro. Throughout her life she worked for Quality Linen, O. C. Tanner and Paul-Thomas Jewelers. She enjoyed life – loved dancing, playing golf with family and friends, going to the Utes basketball and football games, and the Utes Gymnastic events. She was a good friend to many. Kiyoko especially loved her children and grandchildren. The memory of her good-natured ways and spunkiness will live on with family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Joan Go; brother, Roy (Janet); sister-in-law, Sachi Kubosumi; brothers-in-law, Kaz Namba and Lyndon Oshiro (June); and her children, Robert, Ronald (Charlotte), Cathy (Shige), and grandchildren, Holly (Taylor), Tonia (Scott), Peter (Christine), Traci, Kurtis (David) and great-grandchildren, Hendrix, Savvy and Aiya.
Private family services will be held under direction of Redwood Memorial Mortuary.
