Our beloved and beautiful husband, father, and grandfather Kirk Duane Throndsen passed away in his sleep on January 7, 2021. Heaven gained a beautiful angel. Kirk was a kind and gentle soul. He never spoke badly of others. He was very Christlike in everything he did. He put others before himself. He loved his family dearly; they were always his priority. He set a good example with his happy and easy attitude. He treated everyone with kindness and will desperately be missed. He loved his wife dearly, almost to a fault. He loved his two daughters, son-in-law and three granddaughters with all his heart. He loved all of his extended family. He always did everything he could to make people comfortable, happy and without judgment.
Kirk worked in the banking and mortgage industry for many, many years, following in his dad’s footsteps. He also got his appraisal license. He was currently working at Mountain America Credit Union. He was born and raised in Holladay, Utah. He attended Olympus High School. He later attended Utah State University, then the University of Utah. He went on a mission to San Antonio, Texas.
He was such a hard worker and never complained. He made many friends with his co-workers, neighbors and many other people. He had a very good sense of humor. He served many church callings with joy and enthusiasm. He loved people. He thoroughly loved sports and was a huge fan of the University of Utah. He loved his favorite action movies, traveling, playing basketball, his home and yard, and especially playing with his grandchildren. He was excellent at repairing things and figuring things out. He never boasted or bragged about anything. He had quiet confidence.
He is survived by his adoring wife Denise, daughter Brittany Tobler (Russ), granddaughters Ava and Fiona. He is also survived by his daughter Laura Malone, and her daughter. He is survived by all of his siblings, Deborah Cushing (Rod), Paul Throndsen (Jeanette), Pam Cushing (Bryce), Lynn Throndsen and Eric Throndsen (Shauna), and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ed and Lola Throndsen. He is with Jesus and we will see him again.
Because of COVID-19 circumstances, there will be a service with just immediate family.
We love you, sweet Kirk. You’re with the angels, until we meet again.
