Kimberly Tanner

August 25, 1993 — May 22, 2016

Kimberly Tanner, age 22, of Holladay, Utah, left this life for the next, the evening of Sunday, May 22, 2016.
Kimmie loved her family and treasured her friends. She kept albums filled with photos of them, and diaries filled with entries about them. Kimmie took ballet lessons for years and performed in several ballets.  She loved animals. Some of her favorite things were riding strawberry the horse at the Utah State Fair, holding her pet guinea pig Lucky whose life she had saved, feeding the Lories at Tracy Aviary with her mother, sister Jenni and brothers David and John, taking care of her puppy Semper, and feeding the ducks and geese at Wheeler Farm.
Kimmie enjoyed skiing with her sister Jenni, and with her mom and dad.  Her pastel, pen and ink drawings won many ribbons at the Fair. On her night stand Kimmie kept a small self-made plaque which says: Pray morning, noon & night; Be good one day at a time; help someone every day; Smile ‘cause everything will be OK; and, Remember how much Heavenly Father and my family love me.
Kimmie graduated from high school and attended a year at Salt Lake Community College where she intended to graduate with an associate’s degree in accounting.  She was looking forward to taking classes at SLCC this summer with her brother John. Her favorite job was as a teacher’s aid for a Kindergarten class. The children lighted up her life. They loved her and she loved them. Kimmie took pride in working hard at Great Harvest Bread, even though she had to get there in the early hours of the morning to help bake the bread, cinnamon rolls and other treats.
Kimmie never had much money so she spent hours making handmade cards for family and friends for birthdays and Christmas. She loved to be the one to hand out the presents to everyone at family Christmas gatherings.
Kimmie loved big hugs, motorcycle rides with her dad, cooking with her mom, seeing her brother David, his wife Erica and their darling daughter Sara, whom Kimmie adored, spending time with her sister Jenni and brother John, who visited her often.
Kimmie is survived by her grandfather, Stan Tanner; Grandmother Nancy Gartrell (Hal); father Martin Tanner (Michelle); mother Patti White (Ron); brother, David Tanner (Erica); sister, Jenni Tanner; brother, John Tanner; and, niece Sara Tanner.
