Kim Diane Castillo, born on July 10, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Caroline Elenes and Pete Castillo, departed from this world the morning of October 19, 2023. She was the second youngest of eight siblings and was known as a dear Friend, cherished Aunt, adored Sister, and faithful Wife, but most profoundly as a beloved Mother and Grandmother.
Kim is survived by her six sons: Rueben-Jessica, James, Marcos-Savohna, Matthew, Isaac-Jonette, and Joseph; along with her six adoring grandchildren: Jayceton (Rueben), Ashton (Isaac-Jonette), Cruz (Marcos-Savohna), Aayden (Marcos-Savohna), Ezekiel (Isaac-Jonette), & Matasia (Matthew). She is also remembered by her siblings: Eleanor, Ignacio, Joanne, Elaine, Pete, Juanita, & Doreen. Kim's life was a testament to love, and she was deeply loved in return.
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the inspiration she imparted, if only for a moment. She had a beautiful ability to make people think, cry, laugh, and love each other. Above all, Kim will be fondly remembered for her infectious smiles — whether shared with her dearest family or freely offered to a total stranger. The Lord bestowed upon Kim a calling and purpose that she fulfilled with grace and devotion.
A celebration of Kim's life will take place on November 17th at 12:00 P.M. at Wasatch Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 2139 Foothill Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84109. The ceremony will be followed by the placement of her ashes in her final resting place on Saturday, November 18th, at Memorial Estates Redwood, situated at 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan City, UT 84123.
