It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Troy Poulson, age 55, on November 7, 2024, in Draper, Utah.
Kevin was born on November 23, 1968, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Shirley Ann Anderson and Russell “Buss” Poulson.
Kevin was known for his unwavering determination, strength, and loyalty. He was a man who loved fiercely and lived life on his own terms. Stubborn yet loving, he had a heart as big as his personality.
Kevin’s passion for life was evident in his love of family, his work ethic, and his hobbies. He especially cherished spending time at the cabin, 4-wheeling, and fishing with his daughters, creating memories that will last forever. As a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kevin’s passion for his team was well known. He was a loyal fan no matter the score.
A strong man, both physically and mentally, Kevin faced immense challenges throughout his life, overcoming addiction and enduring painful struggles with a remarkable resilience. His ability to persevere through hardships was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Kevin’s work ethic was second to none. He worked for many years as a dock foreman at Meadow Gold with his father, a job he took great pride in, before transitioning to a career as an irrigation technician. His commitment to his work and his attention to detail were a testament to his character.
Kevin also took immense pride in his home and his yard, always ensuring it was in pristine condition, a reflection of his dedication to the things he loved.
Kevin’s presence was one of comfort and security. He made people feel safe, loved, and supported. He showed up when it mattered most, putting others needs above his own. His absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him.
Kevin is survived by his sister Brandy Poulson; his daughters, Lexi, Zoey-Grace, and Keyleigh; his granddaughter, Freya; his father, Buss Poulson; stepdaughters, Keshia and Morgan; and his stepfather, Andy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley; his sister, Alana; and his stepmother, Pam.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with an open house at 8748 Stonebridge Lane, Eagle Mountain, Utah, 84005. All who knew Kevin are invited to come and honor his memory.
Kevin’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He was, and always will be, the man, the myth, the legend.
