Kerry Pollei

July 31, 1959 — August 18, 2014

Kerry was born 31 July 1959 to Richard and Beverly Pollei. She was raised in Holladay and graduated from Olympus High School in 1977. She received an associate’s degree in Business Administration and Management from LDS Business College, then a degree from Phoenix University in Business Administration. She worked for several healthcare companies as a Business Analyst Sr. Specialist; her current employment being CIGNA Healthcare. Kerry was brilliant with computers and once she learned an operating system, she never forgot it. She received many awards for her performance. Her work took her to Las Vegas, NV, and then Goodyear, AZ. Kerry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On her birthday in 1995, Kerry legally added Enid as her middle name. Grandmother Enid was a very talented artist and Kerry felt a keen connection to her. Kerry was also multi-talented, winning awards for her oils and pastels, giving baby afghans to each new infant born in the family, making jewelry, and trying her hand at any other hobby or craft that interested her.
She was an active member of the Audubon Society in Las Vegas. Loved to garden and dearly loved her dogs, many of whom have greeted her in heaven as all good dogs go to heaven and all her dogs were good dogs.
Kerry passed away at her home in Goodyear on 18 August 2014, just seven weeks after her successful kidney transplant surgery. In an act of total love and compassion, Allyn Rigby, her companion of 20 years had donated his kidney to her.
She is survived by her parents, sister Becky (Richard) Hansen, brother Steven (Becky), and sister Peggy (Larry) Hanson, and by many nieces and nephews, along with Allyn and his four daughters who were like Kerry’s own.
Kerry looked past her health problems and saw the positive. Her motto was “Life is Good.” She was so sweet and kind and very generous. We will all miss her very much.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, 30 August 2014 at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Dr. Visitation from 11:00-12:45. Interment will follow at Holladay Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
