Kenneth LeRoy Woods, our loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on August 18, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Kenneth was born in Lehi, Utah to Thomas Clyde and Camilla (Schow) Woods on February 11, 1930. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School in 1949. After graduating he entered the Navy and later transferred to the Army and served his country in Korea.
Ken lived in Salt Lake City and pursued a career as an architectural draftsman with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until he retired in 1995. He was an active and faithful member of the Church, serving in various positions including many years as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple.
Ken married Florence Irene Benedict in 1951 and they had four children together. In 1976 he married Shirlene Virginia Hennesey and they had a daughter together. Ken is survived by both of his former wives and his five children, Jim (Sue) Woods, Jeri Foster, Tom (Tina) Woods, Ken (Susie) Woods, and Jackie Woods. Ken has twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Clyde (LaRue) Woods.
Ken was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyle Harris Woods, Errol Ranae Woods, and his sister, Betty Rae Woods.
Kenneth loved the outdoors, enjoying everything from hunting and fishing to gardening and taking long walks with the dogs. His children enjoy the paintings he did in his later life. Dad, we will miss you.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at 2 pm at Redwood Memorial Mortuary at 6500 S. Redwood Road in West Jordan. There will be a viewing beginning at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the LDS Genealogy program at https://donate.familysearch.org. Thank you.
