Kenneth R. Workman

On April 27, 2018, after having endured years of multiple health problems, Ken slipped to the other side, reuniting with wife Mary Ann.
Kenneth was born July 10, 1934 in Vernal, Utah to Peter Orisho Workman and Josephine Reynolds Bowthorpe Workman. His family shortly thereafter moved to Holladay, Utah. Ken graduated from Granite High School. Dad served in the Argentina mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He lived the life of a gaucho, riding a horse while preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Up until the time of his death Ken was fluent in Spanish and sought opportunities to speak “God’s Language.” He loved baseball. Dad was employed as a truck driver for many years, delivering chemicals to various locations throughout the United States. Dad would often drive to mines and wellheads where others did not dare to take a semi. After a serious industrial accident in 1983 Dad was forced to retire.
Dad married our mother, Mary Ann Blake in the Salt Lake Temple in 1955, and was her companion until her death on February 11, 2014, having taken care of her faithfully after years of poor health.
Ken is survived by his children: Blake (Rosemarie) and Terri Elizabeth; grandchildren: Jacob Blake (Jessica), Tosca Noel (Benjamin) Wooley, Samantha Rae (Johnathan) Adams, Chloe Anne (Kyle) Hudgins, and MaryAnn Workman; great-grandchildren: Jackson and Juliet Workman, Emma and Luke Wooley; siblings: Cherie Christensen, Keith (Renee) Workman, Joalene Narans; brother-in-law, Doyal Jones, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sisters: Beverlee Jones and Anna Lee Wright; and brothers-in-law, Harry Narans, Jack Christensen, and Dennis Wright.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at South Jordan City Cemetery, 10630 South 1055 West, South Jordan, Utah.Service Information
