KENNETH PAUL BORG
January 20, 1937 – January 24, 2019
Our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend went to sleep in his home on January 24, 2019, after a long fought battle with cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of affection, love, humor, devotion, courage, support, stability and persistence.
Ken was proud to say he served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1957, upon the USS Yorktown. He came away from his service with several life-long friends. After being honorably discharged he and Karen Lott met and were married in 1959. Together they raised a family, opened and operated the Restaurant Capri for 22 years, and supported one another through life. After selling the restaurant, he went to work in the purchasing department for Cottonwood Hospital where he retired in 1996. He loved to work, so in 2003 he began working part-time with his son and daughter-in-law at TurnKey Direct. He remained there until 2018 when he decided to spend more time at home in his yard.
Ken was a man who devoted himself to his family and friends. He built a large network of incredible people who became an unwavering support system all the way through to the end. It will be a sweet reunion when he can meet up with those he left behind as well as those who left before him.
Ken’s favorite things to do were to go boating, camping and four wheeling. He passed his love for spending time in the outdoors on to his kids and grandkids, and built many fond memories with all of them throughout the years. He also loved working in and maintaining his beautiful yard and enjoyed inviting family and friends over for pool side BBQ’s.
He, and his wife Karen, pass down that sense of love and devotion to their family. Ken is survived by his wife Karen: children; Kathy (Lon Trees), Kevin (Terri), and Kort (Thomas); 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brother Dale and brother-in-law Richard Sundberg. He was preceded in death by his father Paul, mother Ivah (John Kirch), sister Linda Sundberg, and best friends Robert (Bob) Earl and Noel Anderson. You may pay respects to the family January 28 from 6 to 8 pm, or January 29 from 9:30 to 10:15 am at the Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E. Services will follow on January 29 at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers the family requests you please give to someone in need.
