Kenneth Shawn Buxton
October 26, 1967 – August 27, 2016
Kenneth Shawn Buxton, age 48, passed away on August 27, 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born on October 26, 1967 in Salt Lake City to Ilene Holt and Gary G. Cummings. He married Tracy Diane Kelly on April 16, 1988.
Ken proudly enlisted in the US Navy in April of 1988 and serviced honorably until January of 1997. He was a proud “Plank Owner” of the USS Grapple ARS-53 and the USS Champion MCM-4. Ken was passionate about the outdoors, whether it was 4-wheelin’, golfing or creating chaos in Butterfield Canyon. He was an avid NASCAR fan and hopefully he can meet “The Intimidator” in heaven. He will always be remembered by his infamous “Hey Fred, ya think” He was a devoted father, son, brother and friend and although we will miss him, we are truly thankful he is now at peace.
He is survived by his beautiful daughter Karessa Buxton (Brad Christensen), mother Ilene (Strand) Speck, father Gary G. Cummings, siblings Scott (Kathy) Buxton, Emilee (Todd) Prescia), Daniel (Patrice) Buxton, ex-wife and “Love of his life” Tracy Kelly. Also many aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Ken was preceded in death by his beloved “Gramma” Leona Holt (who lived to be 100 years old).
