West Valley, Utah-Kelsey Taylor Davis, aged 23, passed away at her home on Friday, October 14th, 2016. May she forever rest in peace and be welcomed into the loving arms of her family and friends who preceded her. We take comfort in knowing they are reunited, and are together now shining down upon us all. Kelsey was born on August 24th, 1993 to her mother Chris Davis-Cruse; her father Karl Davis; and her older sister Ashley Davis; all of whom gladly welcomed Kelsey’s shining spirit into this world. Her younger brother Jason joined us a few years later, and we all benefited beyond expression from the 23 years that we were so very blessed to share with her. Kelsey grew up happy, well-loved, with loving family and amazing friends who were fortunate to share in her brilliance. Kelsey graduated from Bingham High School before moving on to SLCC and the Cameo College of Beauty. On July 20th, 2016, Kelsey was diagnosed with a rare congenital brain tumor that ultimately altered her perception of the world. On August 25th, 2016 Kelsey underwent surgery to remove the tumor and with it went her ability to accept the unconditional love and compassion so many of us had for her. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and eyes, contagious laugh, bubbly personality, sassy attitude, spontaneous decisions, and her ability to make any person feel welcomed and loved. The thought she put into expressing her love and showing kindness towards her family and friends will remain unparalleled. Kelsey loved singing in the shower, teasing her siblings, spending time with family, dancing to country music, socializing with her friends, making her boyfriend watch romantic comedies, going shopping, taking long drives with nowhere in mind, making crafts, playing with her chihuahuas, and bringing joy to all. We miss you dearly Kelsey and take comfort in knowing you’ve found peace and happiness in heaven.
She is survived by her father, Karl Davis; her mother and husband, Chris & Don Cruse; sister and brother, Ashley & Jason Davis; step-sisters Jessica & Desirae Cruse; paternal grandparents, Rosemary & Ray Kappes; paternal uncle, Shane Davis; boyfriend and love of her life, Patrick Cordova; the Cordova Family; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who love her deeply. Kelsey is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Edward and Karan Higgs; paternal great grandparents, Gus and Dorothy Burdis; and maternal uncle, David Higgs. We would like to thank Kelsey’s work family at Discover; the University of Utah Neurology and Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) staff; and the staff at South Valley Women’s Health Center.
