Kaye Winter Liefting

July 22, 1953 — July 14, 2019

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away surrounded by her family on July 14 at her home. She suffered from Lewy body Dementia for many years. We are happy that she is off to a new journey free from her earthly body.
Kaye was the first born of twin girls to Richard and Dorothy Winter in Rexburg, Idaho. The twins had a wonderful life together getting into mischief and other adventures because you know two heads are better than one.
In 1974, she married her beloved husband D. David Liefting. Together they raised four sons, whom she loved dearly. She loved to watch her boys play all kinds of sports, go hiking, but her favorite was camping in the mountains with her family.
She held many church callings but her all time favorite was girls camp leader. She did that for many years. She also worked for the F.B.I for 40 years and had many wonderful memories for the many different things she was able to do. Kaye was loved by all who knew her, she always had a smile on her face and kind words for all.
She is survived by her husband D. David Liefting and their sons Scott (Mary), Chad, Todd, Nicholas (Whitnee), 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, twin sister Karen Winter Helton (Michael), brother Douglas (Evelyn) Winter, and many nieces and nephews.
Kaye was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Dorothy Winter, sister Christine Neil, brother Craig Winter, sister-in-law Jan Winter, and grandson Josh Burdette.
Kaye’s twin sister Karen would like to express her gratitude to Kaye’s husband Dave for his years of devotion he showed her by walking hand in hand with her as she suffered with the awful disease Lewy body Dementia. She couldn’t have asked for a better husband for her sister. He was an example of such love and caring for Kaye. Dave and Kaye loved each other so much and I love Dave for taking such good care of her and loving her. I thank you Dave with all my heart. We will miss you, Kaye, and can’t wait to see you again.
