Kay Rasmussen Hall

June 27, 1942 — November 16, 2017

Our sweet mother, wife, sister and friend passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  After a 10-year battle with T Cell Lymphoma and its devastating effects on her heart and other organs, she succumbed finally to heart failure.  It was a valiant effort full of strength, dignity and laughter.  Kay was raised in Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1960.  She formed beautiful friendships there that endured through the years.  She attended Utah State University where she was an Alpha Chi Omega.   It was there she met Glade Hall; they were married in 1963 and moved to Bountiful to raise their family.   As a devoted mother, her time was often spent at the schools with PTA, chauffeuring in the family van, and creating fun filled memories.
She was an active member of the community, involved in many volunteer organizations including the start-up of the Bountiful Davis Art Center.  Her work at Cavanaugh’s gave her the opportunity to share her sweet tooth with all; she gave a treat at every occasion.  She also worked for Dr. Mike Thompson for many years, loving the opportunity to help others.
Kay loved people.  She so enjoyed gathering with her many friends; Christmas parties, lunch or simply a Coke and a laugh.  She truly cared about others, going out of her way to make them feel special and extend a kind word or a hug.  She especially looked forward to her visits with her sister Cleo and brother Bob, whose relationships she so valued.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she cherished everything they did, keeping each and every memento and hand drawn card.  Their visits always brightened her day; they never left without an “I love you” and a hug.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Glen Bowen and all of the wonderful, caring staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute as well as the Heart Failure team at the University of Utah Hospital.  She was given the utmost care and respect by all.  Special thanks as well to her many friends, cousins and in-laws who were so supportive to her through the years and gave her such joy.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Clark and Sarah (Peggy) Rasmussen as well as a grand-daughter, Elli Stott.  Survived by Glade Hall, Lisa (Jim) Macfarlane, Kim Stott, Jason Hall and 4 wonderful grand-sons; Jaxon, Dylan, Joshua and Jake.
Services will be held at Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Kay’s honor.
