Katie Gronning Marsh

December 8, 1947 — November 28, 2024

Our sweet, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Katie Gronning Marsh, was reunited with her eternal companion, Jack Marsh, on November 28, 2024. Although we are saddened by her passing, we are happy that she is with the love of her life, her parents and sisters.

Katie was born on December 8, 1947 in Milford, Utah to Carlyle and Blanche Gronning. She had three older sisters, Pat, Carlene and Joyce, one older brother, Eugene and one younger sister, Maryann. Her family moved to Salt Lake City when she was 10 years old, where she would spend her younger years growing up. She attended Olympus High School and would later go on to beauty school to become a beautician.

She married her hubby Jack in 1968 in Reno Nevada and eventually moved to California for a brief time. Together they had three children, Jeff, Jack “Andy”, and Amy and in 1984 they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Jack had two children from a previous marriage, Tracie and Trevor, who she loved as her own. They moved back to Utah in 1977 and lived in West Jordan for the remainder of their lives. After moving back to Utah, Katie worked in the accounting field for several different companies, with the majority of her time at SOS Staffing, where she made many long, lasting friendships.

Katie had a funny sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. She had a contagious smile and was beautiful inside and out. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having family and friends over for dinner. Everyone loved her brownies and would ask her to make them for any family gatherings. She liked to go to Wendover with her sisters, shopping, reading, playing on her iPad and being with family.

Katie loved being a mother, but especially loved her 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend and always put other’s needs before her own. “Oh my garsh” we will miss her dearly but know we will be reunited with her again.

Katie is survived by her children Jeff, Jack “Andy” (Joie), Amy (Matt) Hansen, stepchildren Tracie (Chris) Gagnier and Trevor Marsh, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters Joyce (Darell) Roberts, Maryann (Kevin) Beaslin and brother Eugene (Marcia) Gronning. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart Jack, her parents, Carlyle and Blanche Gronning, and sisters Carlene Jensen and Pat Ashworth.
