November 20, 1945 – August 24, 2020
Heaven has gained another Angel. Our beautiful mother, grandma, great-grandma, wife, sister, friend, and angel on earth lost her battle to cancer. Our hearts are truly broken for this great loss.
She was born to Willian Dell and Vern Fern Barentsen on November 20, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married James C. Sieverts in the Salt Lake Temple on May 27, 1966. She is survived by Jimmy (Lorraine), Bret (Bobbi Sue), Shane (Michele), Tiffany (Dan Smith), Brandon, 26 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, her parents, her brother Max and 2 great-granddaughters.
Mom was truly a saint and the glue that has held and will continue to hold this family together. She has been such a blessing and an example, with a strength and faith that was unwavering. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all her life and loved serving in the nursery. When Mom found out she had cancer she told us, “I am going to do everything I can until I can’t!” She held true to those words and spent many of the past 3 years traveling, camping, going to lunch or dinner with family and friends, playing games and enjoying life to its fullest. Mom was always dedicated to her causes, She was the President of MADD (mothers against drunk driving) for 10 year a secretary, a real estate agent and an angel as a home health and hospice CNPHA to many loving patients. She was the best caregiver to our dad as he battled his disease for the last 6 years of his life. She made everyone feel like family, because in her eyes everyone was. Mom’s greatest calling was being a mom, she sewed us all matching clothes, supported us in sports and dance, stood up for us at school and spent time loving and caring for us all. She even extended that calling because mom took care of everyone  from the neighborhood kids that need bandages or even ER visits, to the many that lived in our home. Mom’s door was always open, she took in our friends or children of her friends that needed a place to stay, Special Olympic kids, foreign exchange students and cared for other children while their parents were recovering from medical needs. As kids everyone called her mom, including the entire wrestling team, whom she cheered for everyone just as if they were her own. When she became a grandma she touched ever more lives and has far more grandchildren than the ones listed above, helping neighbor’s and single mom’s to care for their children. She loved the holidays and was very talented. She painted ceramics for every holiday and decorated our home and yard to the hilt. Her favorite being Halloween and Christmas. She even dressed up every year on Halloween and visited her patients in her costume which they all loved. At Christmas she always encouraged our family to do a secret sub for Santa, this has helped many families that would not have had a Christmas otherwise. She had a great love of animals. As a child she loved to visit her grandparents farm to help with the animals, she barrel raced, rode 2 Clydesdale horses Roman and helped with the cattle. We also had many dogs, cats, birds and fishes over the years and whenever we would bring another one home, she always let us keep them. Her Sweet Brandy is at a complete loss without her.  She will be greatly missed by all who truly knew her, she has a heart of gold and  we know that she is having a wonderful reunion with those on the other side of the veil. All our love mom until we meet again.
In lieu of flowers to honor our mom please find a way to do a kind deed to pay it forward.
