Kathleen (Kathy) Morrison Barlow

January 26, 1957 — May 25, 2024

Kathleen (Kathy) Diane Morrison Barlow, age sixty-seven, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on the afternoon of May 25th, 2024. Kathy was born on January 26th in the year 1957 to Frederick and Lillian Morrison. She was a darling golden haired angel and the perfect little capstone to her parents, older brother Rick, and sister Marianne. In the year 1974, she met Keith Barlow. They had commonalities that brought them together, but they also had differences in their upbringings. This was highlighted on one of their dates when Keith excused himself from the table to “go see a man about a horse,” and Kathy sat there patiently, all the while she thought him literally speaking to a man about a horse. Despite this, they were engaged ten days after their first “date” and were married a few short months later on October 3rd and again on October 4th.

Kathy was an accomplished piano player; a gift she passed on to many of her children. She was also an amazing cook and baker. She was widely known for her dinner rolls as well as her “killer” brownies. She crafted with her sister, friends, and daughters numerous times, but was humble and always stated that she didn’t know what she was doing, although the many dolls she gave away, ceramics displayed in her home, and holiday crafts stored away always told a different story. Amongst being a Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, housewife, homemaker, and teacher (homeschool), she also worked various jobs out of the house; including sewing for a time, and daycare for many years, affectionately being known by many youngsters as “Grandma Kathy” and “Grandma Happy.” However, of all her many accomplishments and contributions, her children were the staple of her life: seventeen of her own, twelve she considered hers, and eight of her sister’s she cherished and cared for.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband Keith, her sister-wife Kristine, their twenty-eight children: Keith, Jennifer, Kimberly, Jedediah, Arthur, Patricia, Phillip, Ethan, Shawn, Shem, Savannah, Andrew, Mallory, Alex, Jarom, Hallie, Clayton, Melody, Patrick, Sheldon, Alicia, Mariah, Richard, Dallin, Colin, Stephanie, Devin, Kyle, many daughters- and sons-in-law, seventy-seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild (and another on the way), as well as her brother Rick.

Kathy was met on the other side by her parents Frederick and Lillian, her sister Marianne, her brother-in-law Brian, her precious daughter Samantha Ann, and many other dear friends and relations. What a joyous reunion she must have had!

Our Darling Mother Kathy was an elect lady. Nothing meant more to her than the gospel of Jesus Christ and her faithful testimony of it. Being able to instill that into her children was what she considered her greatest accomplishment.  She was the embodiment of charity, loving kindness, selflessness, good works, and the very word “Mother.” She was nurturing and caring in everyway. She was deeply loved by all who knew her, and her counsel and sense of humor were unmet in their wisdom and subtlety. She was giving to a fault, and she stood by her principles even if it meant going back to a store hours later because the cashier gave her one too many pennies. Kathy had an uncanny sense or motherly-intuition, and would always look her children in the eye and say “Tell Mother all about it,” - a phrase she even used with people who were not her children. She also verbally adopted many friends of her children and loved them as her own. She never failed to offer a needed smile even up to the very end. She is greatly missed by so many.
