Kathleen (Kathy) Farnsworth Fuller passed away peacefully on the morning of November 12, 2024—her seventy-first birthday. Born on November 12, 1953, to Dean and Miriam Farnsworth, Kathy was a golden-haired angel and a perfect addition to her family, joining her older brother Rick and sister Edith.
Kathy grew up in Hunter, Utah, and attended Brockbank Junior High School. It was there that she met her future husband, Douglas Fuller, when his family moved into the neighborhood. Kathy and Doug both attended Cyprus High School, where they joked that she’d need to learn to sew before they could marry. Their romance blossomed after Doug returned from his LDS mission in Tahiti, and on July 19, 1974, they married in the Provo, Utah Temple, where Doug had proposed. Together, they built a life filled with love, raising six remarkable children and delighting in 14 wonderful grandchildren.
An accomplished pianist, Kathy shared her love of music with her children and grandchildren, passing down both talent and passion. She was a devoted homemaker, actively involved in leading church activities, playing the organ, and volunteering in her community and at her children’s schools. Kathy was a true friend and mother, often serving as a listening ear for anyone who needed her understanding and support.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Doug; her children, Jenny (Mike), Jon (Kat), Emily (Troy), Rob (Nicole), Meredith (Nathan), and Stephen (Kendall); her 14 grandchildren; her brothers, Rick and Jeff; and her sisters, Edie and Ann. She was joyfully reunited on the other side with her parents, Dean and Miriam; her sister, Betsy; and many dear friends and family members. What a joyous reunion she must have had!
Kathy’s faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ was the guiding force of her life, and she considered her greatest accomplishment to be instilling that faith in her children. She had an uncanny motherly intuition, often looking her children in the eye, asking questions, and gently prompting them to “spill their guts.” She embodied charity, kindness, selflessness, integrity, and service.
Kathy was deeply loved by all who knew her, and her wise counsel and subtle humor will be sorely missed. Even in her final days, she never failed to share a warm smile, despite the challenges of her illness. She felt profound gratitude for her husband, neighbors, and friends who lovingly assisted in her care to the end.
Kathy’s light, love, and legacy will be missed dearly by all who were blessed to know her.
