Kay Parker, our beloved mother and grandmother peacefully passed away July 8, 2014 in Salt Lake City. She was born November 8, 1928 to Niels Peter Hansen and Clarice Sophia Roan Hansen in SLC, Utah. Her mother Clarice passed away when Kay was fourteen. Her father Pete later married Edna Goden. Kay was the oldest of three daughters. She married C. Howard Parker in 1950, later solemnized in the SLC Temple. They had four sons. After her beloved husband passed away in 1969, Kay worked very hard to raise four sons on her own and endured many challenges along the way. She has 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Kay attended the following SLC schools: Hawthorne Elementary, Irving Junior High, South and East High. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout the years. She faithfully served as Relief Society President and worked in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. She also served in many leadership roles with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Mom enjoyed her family deeply and relished her family gatherings on Christmas Eve and Easter. Mom enjoyed camping, spending time at her mountain property and annual family ATV trips. Mom was truly a remarkable person and she will be deeply missed by family and friends.
