Kathleen Ann Allen

September 23, 1942 — February 9, 2022

Kathleen Ann Allen, 79, passed away on Wednesday February 9, 2022 with her attentive family by her side.  Kathy was born on September 23, 1942 in Oakland, California to Deloris Ann Cardoza. She grew up in Salt Lake Valley and graduated from South high school.  She married her sweetheart Richard Reed Allen on November 18, 1961.  They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kathy served in Relief Society and Primary Organization.
She worked in the Jordan School District as the Registrar at Jordan High School for 22 years.  Following her retirement she loved crocheting, making quilts, afghan’s, playing solitaire, coloring, and shopping on “home shoppers”.  But everything took a back seat to snuggling with her sweetheart Richard. Richard was a fabulous husband and took remarkable care of Kathy following her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis.  Kathy’s pride and joy was her Children and Grandchildren. They were always a lifelong top priority for her. She loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and supporting them in all their accomplishments and activities. She loved the family get-together’s, dinners, holidays, and celebrating as a family with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her husband Richard, daughters – Debbie Oviatt Pugh, Tammy (Glen) Nash, son – Rick Allen, Siblings –Tom (Sue) Nicholson, Linda (the late-Russ) Fairless, Darlene (Robert) Hallman. She was the proud grandmother of twelve and great-grandmother to nineteen beloved grandchildren.
Kathy was preceded in death by her sweet daughter, Heidi Michelle and (David) Albiston, twin great-grandson’s – Finn Allen Houser and Boone David Houser.
A Family gathering to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held on Monday February 14th at 11:00 am at the Pioneer Ward building – 8680 South 220 East, Sandy Utah 84070
The Family would like to thank the home hospice aides for their care and kind service prior to Kathy’s passing. In lieu of flowers contributions to Kathy’s funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated at Tammy-Nash-3 (venmo).
