Katherine Mccormick Almond

September 2, 1964 — January 15, 2022

Katherine McCormick Almond Our mother, daughter, sister and friend Katherine McCormick Almond died peacefully on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at home surrounded by the love of her family after a brave battle with cancer. Born September 2nd 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Katherine was known as “Kathy” or “Kat” to friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Ember Folkestad, her sons Codey and Jesse Almond, Selestio (Taylor) McCormick, her mother, Audrey McCormick, her brother Kevin, sister Heather and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Before her passing she was thrilled to meet her first Grandchild, baby Owen.  She was preceded in death by her brother Leslie and sister Ellen.
Katherine was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends and gathering all around her table. She was quick to laugh with an easy smile.  To her friends she was always faithful and to her children and family she was fiercely protective and loving.
Mom, we love you more than words can say and will miss you for all our remaining days. You brought four children into this world and we are forever grateful for your gift of life.
The family would like to thank Harmony Hospice, Glenn Garcelon Foundation and Huntsman Cancer Institute for their amazing support and dedication to Kathy’s end of life care.
There will be a private memorial for close friends and family scheduled at a later date. Interment at Memorial Holladay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Kathy’s name to The American Cancer Society.  http://cancer.org
