Karol Wilde

January 2, 1948 — September 28, 2013

Karol Kaye Wilde was many things! She was a daughter, sister, wife and mother. Karol was born on January 2, 1948 in Coalville, UT to Vernon Wilde and Ruby Gardner (deceased). She spent many happy years in Oakley with her siblings, Darwin, Colynn, Ruth (deceased), and Troy. Karol married John Schroeder and had five children, Forrest, Darrel (deceased), Hollie (Carl) Weyland, Amy (Mark) Colton, and Karisa (deceased). She later married Carl Foti. Karol was a second mother to many and an immediate friend to all she met. But most of all, Karol was a grandma. She adored her 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and they loved her.
After graduating from high school she received her cosmetology license. She was a hard worker and often held two jobs. She last worked for Memorial Mortuary as an office manager.
Karol was a country girl at heart and it showed through in her famous cooking. She was in her element in the kitchen and loved to plan parties and dinners. Christmas parties were a favorite with the grandchildren. And who could say no to her chicken fried steak. She couldn’t resist a cookbook and loved to try new recipes. Karol was a gardener, family history enthusiast, a collector of family heirlooms, and had a love for traveling. She valued her ancestors and loved to visit places they had lived. Karol loved nature, camping, boating, and any event that would bring family together to eat and laugh.
Karol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. She loved to serve others. She was always there when needed, especially with food, a listening ear and unconditional love. Karol’s greatest love was her family and they will miss her dearly!
