Karen Lester Schramm was born on 05 November 1952 in Murray, Utah to David Marion Lester and Fay Harris (Lester). She returned to her loving husband on 06 February 2014 after a long battle of various medical problems. She married her beloved husband, Raymond, on 18 September 1981 in the Manti Utah temple.
Karen devoted her life to her friends, family, taking care of others, doing pranks, and having a good time. She served a mission in the Ohio-Cleveland mission in 1979-1980. While on her mission she was companions with Raymond’s sister, Roberta Merrill, who introduced them. After her mission she courted Raymond and they were married shortly after. They lived in Arizona, Texas and then finally resided in Utah. She loved spending time with her family and going on vacations to Hawaii, the west coast states and Canada. She worked at OC Tanner and several different companies for Senior Home care. She loved the outdoors, camping, riding horses, sewing, hand quilting, and her animals.
She is survived by her three daughters Amber, Becky, and Katy (Bryce) Nelson; Her siblings Dick (Wendy) Lester, Sandy (Lloyd) Brandt, Steve (Russ) Lester and Julie Andrews. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother and two brothers Baby Lester and Mel Lester.
Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 12 February at 11:00 am at Redwood Memorial located on 6500 South and Redwood Road. A viewing will be held the night before from 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior to the funeral services (10-10:45 am) at the same location. The family would like to thank Hospice for Utah and Sandy Health and Rehab for the love and care they gave to Karen.
