Karen Oborn Wareham-Kearns, UT (recently of Parachute, CO)
Karen Wareham, loving mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, aunt, and friend, died October 25, 2018.
Karen was born March 24, 1940 in Murray, Utah to Rulon Oborn and Zola Fraser. She married Dick Wareham on June 4, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada and was later solemnized in the LDS Temple. Her favorite thing was to entertain family and friends, and to spend time with them. She loved to travel and has been to South America, Europe, and all over the US. Karen was a skilled quilter and had boundless energy. She retired from Abbott Critical Care after working there for 26 years. She served numerous volunteer positions in the LDS church as well as an LDS Mission in Washington D.C. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her son Roger D. Wareham, daughter Kenna J. Wareham, grandsons Ryan McLachlan (Shelli), Tyson Teal, and great granddaughters Rae and Ayla McLachlan, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was especially close to her niece, Jenifer Swa, who has helped serve as her care giver over the past 8 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son Rulon Wade Wareham, her sister Kolene Bird, and brother Rulon Kent Oborn.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Funeral services will be held on November 3, 2018 starting at 2:00 PM with a viewing one hour prior at the same location. Interment to follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.Service Information
