Karen Harward Young

Karen Harward was born 12/16/1938 and passed on 12/21/2021, at the age of 83. She was born in Richfield, Utah, to William Ritch and Mabel Ogden Harward.
Karen grew up in Richfield, completed a BS degree from Brigham Young University, and a MS from University of Utah. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 37 years. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in a variety of capacities. She enjoyed the companionship of many loved peers, neighbors, and lifelong friends. Karen cherished her sons and daughter-in-law. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with her beautiful granddaughters.
She is survived by her sons, Eric Young of Murray, UT, Brian (Holly) Young, and granddaughters, Breanna, (Andrew David), Sydney, (Ryan Long) and Kiley of West Jordan, UT. She is also survived by siblings, Marilynn (Gerald) Davis and Brian (Ilene) Harward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Christine, and sister, Peggy (James) Benson.
A family graveside service will be at the Memorial Mountain View Cemetery in Cottonwood Heights on December 29, 2021
