J.W. Wright, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on 20 July 2021 at the age of 95.
J.W. was born to Vie Anna Anderson and Floyd Alexander Wright on 11 April 1926 in Bromide, Oklahoma.  Some of J.’s happiest and fondest memories were of his childhood spent with his family in rural Oklahoma.

J. & Melba lived briefly in California before calling Utah home for good. They became the parents of two girls, Marlene and Debra. J. worked for Chevron Oil at the refinery in North Salt Lake for many years until his retirement in 1986.
J. was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting throughout his life. J. loved long car rides and walks.  J. and Melba loved to travel, especially with their best friends, Bill and Marge Mathews.
J. was most proud of his family and the life he had helped build for them. He and Melba were married for 61 years before her passing in 2007.
J. is survived by his daughters Marlene Sollis (Larry), and Debra Muir (Randy); 10 grandchildren, Cynthia Hepworth (Brian), Brandon Muir (Jenn), Jennifer Lundeberg (Karl), Ryan Muir, Jeffrey Sollis (Rachel), Brett Muir (Becca), Christian Sollis (Susie), Greg Muir (Cheryl), Matthew Sollis (Clancey), and Lindsey Mackay (Nate); and his 27 great-grandchildren. J.’s family would like to thank his neighbors for their patience and compassion. Special thanks to his caretaker, Janette Almond, and also his team at the William E. Christoffersen Salt Lake Veterans Home who cared for him during his final days.
