Julia Martinez

Julia Inez Martinez, 84, passed away on July 19th in Murray, UT. She was born in Dolores, CO. to Reuben Gonzales and Ernestina Martinez Gonzales on April 20, 1931. Heaven gained a musical angel, as she enjoyed singing, dancing and playing piano. But as much as she loved music, she also loved cooking. But there was one thing that Julia loved even more, her family. Especially the moments that she spent with her grandchildren. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Gonzales and Ernestina Martinez Gonzales, two sisters; Rachel Otero and Nancy Herrera and two children; Kenneth Ray Martinez and Julie Ann Martinez two grandchildren; Marcus
Martinez and Jesse Gordy Herrera. Survivors include her ex-husband Gasper (Linda) Martinez, her sister Leah Foote, brothers Reuben and Rudy Gonzales and her children Kathie (Ken) Baker, Robbie Jean (John) Snyder, Barney (Cindy) Martinez and Jeffrey Lyn (Lizette) Martinez. She will also be missed by her 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. A closed casket visitation will be held on Wednesday July 22nd from 6PM to 8PM at Deseret Mortuary (36 E. 700 S., Salt Lake City). A funeral service will be held the following day at 10AM at Deseret Mortuary. Burial will follow at Elysian Burial Gardens in Millcreek.
