Early Christmas morning 2024, Judith Mary Warr Cox passed away at home at the age of 79. Judy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 25, 1945, the first daughter of Noel Jack Warr and Mary Alida Dufrenne Warr's six children, three boys and three girls. She attended Hawthorne Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and South High Schools, and attended BYU. She was a strong, lovely, sharing person and was finally brought down my ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
Judy was a wonderful homemaker and loved serving her family. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, and home decorator. She was handy at many crafts--most recently jewelry making. All her friends and family were gifted several pairs of earrings made by Judy. She had a good sense of humor, loved new words and playing word games with people in other parts of the country who became her friends, and used the word "piffle" whenever she could fit it in. Through a friend, she met her husband-to-be, Larry Cox, and they married in 1971. Later divorced. She raised her three sons, and was a great mother and hard worker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including Relief Society President. She was always cheerful and a good friend.
She is survived by her two sons, Van Cox, and Brandon Cox (Natalie), and four grandchildren, Spencer, Isabel, Talen, and JJ Cox, and one great grandson, Jason, with a great granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by brothers, James, Steven, George, and sister, Charlotte Andersen. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Manola Warr, and her son, Ryan Cox, whom she dearly loved.
