Judith Vanet Hall Jones

Judith Vanet Hall Jones passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 17th, 2021, at the age of 71. She was born on May 6th, 1950 to loving parents Astrid Lydia Hall and Emil Gilbert Harry Hall. She was the youngest of five siblings, preceded by Gladys Irene Hall Reseigh, Gilbert Einar Stenersen Hall, Stanley Roger Hall and Dennis Reed Hall.
Judi was a very proud first generation Norwegian/ Swedish American and was a practicing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Judi completed her LPN from Weber State University in 1976. Furthering her passion and dedication to nursing, she obtained her RN from Westminster College in 1983. She enjoyed a very successful career in nursing over the next 40 years, in which her nurturing spirit made a long-lasting impact in several people’s lives.
She served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps Reserve. On December 28, 1984, she married her eternal true love Maj. James Richard Jones, U.S. Army, at the Fort Douglas chapel. She was an avid animal lover and gardener, who loved to spend time in her beautiful yard enjoying her favorite pastime, feeding and watching all the birds that she attracted to her multiple bird feeders. She was an excellent cook who loved trying new recipes. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to go off roading, hiking, river rafting and travel to the ocean whenever she could. She loved lighthouses in particular, as they offered her a peaceful connection to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her two children, whom she loved deeply and wholeheartedly dedicated herself to; Daniel Travis Jones (wife Brianne) and Erin Elizabeth Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Astrid and Gilbert, her husband Richard, and her brother Einar.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 28th, at 9:00am at Memorial Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary located at 4670 South Highland Drive, to be followed by a graveside service at Memorial Holladay Cemetery located at 4900 South Memory Lane.
