Judith Jamison Motley

January 29, 1941 — January 20, 2021

Judith Jamison Motley passed away peacefully January 20th, 2021 at the age of 79 in Midvale, Utah. Judy was born to Edna Mark and Leon Jolley Jamison on January 29th, 1941 in Salt Lake City. She grew up in New Mexico, California, and eventually settled in Salt Lake. She graduated from Olympus High School in 1959.
In 1962 Judy married Bryan E. Yates. Together they had a son, David born in July 68’. They later divorced. Judy met Wayne and they were married in 1972. Their marriage lasted 48 happy years until Wayne’s passing 6 months ago.
Judy worked as a key punch operator and in data entry. She worked many years at Eimac and Abbott Critical Care where she retired in 2000. She loved spending time with her husband Wayne. They loved going out to eat and going to the movies. They shared the love of movies with their twin grandsons which included a giant popcorn with extra butter.
Shopping was always Judy’s favorite pastime. Every Saturday Judy and her son David would go shop at the Cottonwood Mall. David was never short of having the latest color and style of Izod shirts. Their Saturdays started with breakfast at Midvale Mining, shopping, then ended with coming home to pick up Wayne and off to dinner.
Judy loved every holiday, especially Christmas. She loved buying everyone the perfect present. She loved decorating with Wayne and setting up the Christmas village that would fill the living room.
Judy always had a kind heart and endearing love for her family. She will be greatly missed. Judy is survived by her son David (Jen) Yates, grandsons Connor and Parker, her sister Kathy, Brother Mike (Jody) Jamison, and nephews Chance and Colton.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Motley, and her parents.
