Joylyn Tovey Bowman, age 79, passed away on January 23, 2014, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on January 12, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ronald Hart and Lavina Tovey. Joylyn married Veaughn Edward Bowman in the Salt Lake Temple on April 1, 1955.
Unconditional loving Mother, an accomplished pianist, organist for her ward and the Salt Lake Temple. She is a devoted mother to her Eternal Family. Mom always had a listening ear for everyone. She raised her family for many years by herself, and was very proud of her family. A grand reunion is happening with her sweetheart, our Dad, after being apart for 36 years.
Joylyn is survived by: her children, Mike, Steve (Stacie), Kevin (Leslie), Jodee (Ryan); 13 precious grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, 5 girls and 1 boy; her loving sister, Darlene Thomas; and sister-in-law Marilyn Peart (Bernis). She is preceded in death by: her Eternal Companion, Veaughn; her parents; a brother; mother and father-in-law; and brother-in-law Mike Thomas.
Viewings will be held at Haven Kimball Ward, 2300 South 300 East, Salt Lake City, on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and again Tuesday, January 28, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverton City Cemetery, 1500 West 13200 South, Riverton, Utah.
