Our beloved wife, mom, and nana, Joyce Jackson Hatfield of West Valley City, UT passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Joyce was born March 5, 1938, to William and Florence Jackson. She grew up in Copperton, UT with her parents and sisters, Helen and Jean. Joyce graduated from Bingham High School in 1956.
Joyce met the love of her life, Sherman Hatfield, in the winter of 1961. They were married on August 18,1962, and just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last August. After high school graduation she went into the banking business as a bank teller for over 30 years.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and her brother who passed at a young age. She is survived by her companion and husband, Sherman; two sons, Mark Hatfield (Diana) and Mike Hatfield (Shauna); four grandchildren, Briana, Bryce, Justin, and Steven; and one great granddaughter, Brixlynn; who were all the light and love of her life.
The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Litton and all the other many doctors and nurses at the Intermountain Hospital as well as many other doctors and nurses at other facilities for their great care and for helping to extend her time with us.
Viewing services to be held on June 19, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
Graveside services to be held on June 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing one hour prior to services from 12:00 to 12:45 PM.
