Joyce Elizabeth Poll Castro

Joyce Elizabeth Poll Castro, age 79, passed away surrounded by her family on February 14, 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on September 2, 1940 to Roland Poll and Lillis Forman in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Joyce graduated from Hollywood Beauty College, and enjoyed doing cosmetology work. She also went to Salt Lake Community College to become a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. For the last part of her life, she took on the job of being a Senior Companion and loved the people she worked with.
Some of Joyce’s hobbies include: crochet, knitting, embroidery, jewelry making, beauty, gardening, fishing, canning and bingo.
She is survived by her son, Luke (Michelle) Tapia and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sons Victor Tapia, Todd Tapia, Terry Tapia, daughter JoyLynn Ribe, sisters, Joan Poll, Jean Poll, and brothers, Gary Poll, Clifton Poll, and Brent Poll.
A memorial service will be held on February 28, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:30 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1401 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84104.
Joyce asked her family to extend a thank you to everyone who shared their life with her. Even though she outlived all of her family, she lived a full life. Everything she set out to do, she accomplished and completed. A special thank you goes out to Lighten Hospice for their love and compassion.Service Information
