Joyce Chamberlain

January 25, 1925 — June 1, 2015

Joyce LaRue (Kinder) Chamberlain passed away on June 1 after suffering a traumatic fall. We thought Joyce would out live us all, always saying “I can’t believe I made it to 90”! As a young woman, Joyce enjoyed her job as a PBX Operator for Western Airlines and traveling the world with her sweetheart and husband of 46 years, Roland Wesley Chamberlain. You could always pick Joyce out of a crowd with her striking beauty which resembled that of Lucille Ball, with her fiery red hair that was fitting of her personality. You couldn’t meet her and not fall in love with her warm laugher and sweet smile, outlined by her signature orange lipstick. She would never turn down a lunch date with family or friends and you could win over her heart with a simple box of chocolates. Oh, how her face would light up when she saw that box! Joyce was loved by many and made friends wherever she went. Joyce, we hope you’re tee’ing it up, driving one into a turquoise colored sunset…you will forever be with us.
Joyce was a daughter of Clarence and Mattie Kinder, sister to Mickey and Jackie. She was survived by her son, Craig Wesley Chamberlain and wife Gayle, daughter Shawna Sue Hiskey, Roland (Corky) Wright, son of Roland Wesley Chamberlain and, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 5, at 1:00 – 1:45 pm with a Graveside Service at 2:00 pm located at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121.
